It has been a great bird observation winter when it come to the deck. You see our dining room is right inside where the back deck is so while using my laptop, I am able to observe all the birds/red squirrels that use the deck as a cross over to the feeders or just to rest on the posts. I try and keep the glass nice and clean so I can photograph through the glass. Using a 70-200 lens and spot focusing helps and I seem to get fairly sharp images most of the time. The pair of bluebirds that have been around have gotten very used to my movements from inside and doesn't seem to phase them.
